History
DAMPA’s Marine activities were founded early 1970’s following a fire protection development project within the IMO framework.

In 1972 the DAMPA Continuous Ceiling System was launched - the first marine ceiling according to a new continuous class principle of fire protection to be incorporated in the International Safety of Life at Sea regulation, SOLAS-74.

DAMPA hereafter quickly became widely acknowledged as the international trendsetter gaining approvals and certifications from leading National Authorities and Classification Societies worldwide.

DAMPA have many years of extensive experience from truck deliveries all over Scandinavia and Europe, as well as with international shipping to clients both in Middle East, Asia Pacific, Australia and USA.

DAMPA is a 100% owned subsidiary of Chicago Metallic Corporation, USA.

Chicago Metallic Corporation is a family owned business founded in 1893. The activities are based on building materials with focus on grid and ceiling systems. The company is divided into three geographical regions employing over 1,000 people worldwide, with approx. 400 based in Europe.

DAMPA is one of the companies constituting the European Division and is specialised in ceiling systems for the international building and shipbuilding industries.
